Shelley West earned her Master of Science in Psychology from Acadia University in May 2006. In 2009, she established her private practice in the beautiful Annapolis Valley. After practicing psychology for a decade, Shelley expanded her practice in 2016 and named it Annapolis Valley Psychological Services Inc. Shelley is a Registered Clinical Psychologist, specializing in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), with a collaborative client-centered approach. She is a member of the Association of Psychologists of Nova Scotia.
Shelley has over 16 years of expertise working with clients who have experienced domestic abuse. She can help them empower themselves to overcome its devastating effects. She can also help them to make changes so they can avoid entering into similar relationships in the future. She has years of experience working with members of the RCMP, Canadian Forces, as well as Veterans Affairs of Canada.

Vanessa Wotherspoon is a Registered School Psychologist and former Resource Teacher. For several decades, Vanessa has provided Psychoeducational Assessments in order to diagnose Learning Disabilities and screen for Attention and/or Executive Functioning difficulties. She has a declared competency in counseling and experience with behavioural consultation. She has also previously facilitated groups in areas related to managing emotions and self-regulation and has completed Yoga-in-the-Schools teacher training. Vanessa is a writer who writes poetry and children’s stories using rhyme, rhythm, and reason.

Armita is a Registered Clinical and Counselling Psychological Associate with the College of Psychologists of Ontario. She has a Master’s of Education in Counselling Psychology from the University of Western Ontario (2013) and a Master’s of Arts in Clinical Developmental Psychology from York University (2015).
Throughout her clinical training, she has worked for publicly funded mental health agencies including the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health, East Metro Youth Services, Aisling Child and Family Discoveries Centre, and has been involved in private practice working with various difficulties and populations.
Armita specializes in adult ADHD and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) assessments/treatments. Armita also treats and conducts psycho-educational and psychological assessments for children, adolescents and adults. Her practice is LGBTQ affirmative. She is particularly interested and experienced in working with members of diverse communities who struggle with the lack of acceptance from their friends, family, and community of their sexual identity.
